FAQs

Q:What exactly does a personal chef do?
A: Personal chefs help you enjoy healthy, balanced meals without the stress of planning, cooking or shopping. As your PC, Clever Palate will plan a menu based on your tastes, shop for the groceries, prepare them in your home, package and label each meal with reheating instructions leaving your refrigerator with a bounty of food for you to enjoy.
Q: Can I afford a personal chef? Isn't this type of service for rich people?
A: Surprisingly personal chefs are a very affordable luxury. Unlike "private chefs" who are usually full-time salaried employees who make meals that are eaten immediately. Personal chefs prepare 20-40 meals during scheduled cook dates, packaging and freezing enough food to last at least a week, based on the number or people in your household. Smaller families may only use the service once or twice a month. The basic personal chef service costs $300 and produces a minimum of 20 entrees. If you purchased 20, $15.99 restaurant meals you would spend about $320.
Q: So is this frozen food any good?
A: Of course it is! Clear the images of store bought brands from your head. Those boxed meals are full of unrecognizable ingredients, preservatives, excessive salts, sugars and chemicals. It's a stark contrast from the food prepared by Clever Palate. Clever Palate is member of the USPCA (United States Personal Chef Association) and a graduate of the Culinary Business academy, which has spent years developing the training personal chefs in the art of freezing fine foods.
